NotesSource Halifax Weekly Guardian 9 October 1915. Mons Moorthamer, who had moved to Halifax from Hebden Bridge, asked the Hebden Bridge Distress Committee if he no longer had to pay ¾ of his wage to the Committee. He was advised to continue to pay or the matter would be referred to the London Committee. London Authorities had sent Madame Percy to Hebden Bridge without the Committee’s agreement. The lady was accepted but the London Authorities asked not to send more without checking. Added by Graham Bradshaw- Halifax Great War Heritage Society-
