NotesWent to England with at least his wife Julie Jaeckx and a servant, Joanna Grymonprez. They stayed in a country house "Fairfax Hall" (which I could find any more on a map) in the parish of Menston, near Leeds Return to Belgium in the beginning of 1919, where he lived in Ostend until his death in 1920. There are reports of an interview with this refugee (since he was the mayor of his hometown on the Belgian coast), including a photograph, in the then local newspaper the "Leeds Mercury" around the turn of the year 1914-1915 or the beginning of 1915. petervandenabeele6@gmail.com
