NotesFrom Illustrated London News (London, England), Saturday, March 29, 1919; pg. 458; Issue 4171 "A Tribute of Gratitude from Belgian Refugees in Scotland: A Beautifully Carved Box Presented to the King. The box was designed by Jan Anthony, of Antwerp, a Belgian refugee in Glasgow, and was carved by Josef de Somet, of Erpe, a Belgian soldier, while on leave from the Front, as a token of gratitude for Scottish hospitality to their exiled compatriots. It was arranged that the box should be presented to the King by the Belgian Committee of Glasgow Corporation, which administered refugee work in Scotland." The carved box is now in the collections of the Imperial War Museum, object number EPH 8979. https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30088999
